IT Show 2015: Tylt Syncable Lightning Cable (1 Meter)

The Wife is using the iPhone5, issued by her office. So its another device in the household with a different set of charging cable. It was quite manageable before this, mainly with micro-USB and 30-pin iDevice charging cable. But now, I have to make way for 1 cable solely for her iPhone. Thanks Apple.

I have tried to use a number of Lightning cables. But somehow, it only works for a couple of charge, after which the dreaded error message saying that the cable is not suitable for charging would appear. I have to admit that these are not 'official certified' Lightning cables. The Wife brought one of these cables, which I bought, for her business trip and it died on her. Horror of horrors!! She had to look high and low for an alternate certified Lightning cable at the hotel and with her office colleagues. I got quite an earful from that incident.

So no more. I bought the Tylt Syncable Lightning Cable at the recent IT Show to help with the charging cable management. The length is 1 meter. The quality of the Tylt cable is quite good.

I am using this 1 meter cable with the Bluelounge Sanctuary4 for local charging. There is another Tylt Lightning cable which I will give to The Wife for her business trips. Its a Syncable Duo, which I will write in my next blog.

Apple OEM 15W 4 Port USB Desktop Charger

I blogged about an OEM Apple Two Port USB Charger here. It is quite a useful device and I wanted to look for more of these plugs. But on my recent trip to Kuala Lumpur, I came across this device instead. Its an OEM Apple (Rip Off) 15W USB Desktop Charger. The packaging caught my attention because it is quite familiar to Apple's.

The output is 3A. I would think it is sharing amongst 4 port but I hardly use all 4 ports. it is quite sufficient to charge my family's phone and iDevices. However, I foresee a problem with the various cables.

Apple Clone Two Port USB Charger

I bought this generic 2-Port USB charger on my recent trip to KL. It costs RM 25.00 (SGD$9.80). The design is obviously a Apple rip-off but what attracted me was its USB charging output capacity. One port has an output of 2.1A. This is suitable iPad and iPhone. The other port has an output of 1A. This is suited for Blackberry and Kindle. I plan to use this for the bedroom, together with the Innergie 2-in-1 Cable Charge and Sync, which I blog about here.

It can charge practically the whole iDevice family.

There are 2 ports out.

It is a 2 piece device, similar to the Apple charger.

Does it look familiar?

There is a light indicator on the USB Charger. I do not think its LED though.

The 2.1 Amp output works on iPad.

It works on Blackberry but I was not able to capture it in time.
